An Internet-based campaign speech by Gov. Rick Perry today was not seen by many due to technical difficulties. The campaign suspects the interuption was a cyber-attack:

"Today’s ‘Talkin' Texas’ webcast by Gov. Perry was deliberately interrupted by a denial-of-service attack, preventing countless users from logging in to view the Governor’s remarks," said Mark Miner, Perry campaign spokesman, in an e-mail. "This planned and coordinated attack was political sabotage, and we are working to identify those responsible for this illegal activity. Before the attack was initiated, more than 22,000 users were able to log in and view Gov. Perry’s complete remarks, which will be distributed shortly.”

From LSR's end, the error prompt read "Too many connections" and a said there was a failure to connect to the server. LSR attempted to log-on at 11:28 a.m. and attempted to view the speech through 12:30 p.m., with no success.

We'll keep our readers posted on whether or not the Perry campaign can verify if it was truly the work of a politically motivated hacker ... or if 22,000 site visitors saw the video at all.

UPDATE (1:08 p.m.): The Perry campaign posted the text of this morning's speech -- pertaining mostly to economic development and Caterpillar's move to Seguin, amid some other policy points -- at: http://rickperry.org/release/gov-perrys-talkin-texas-remarks   (Hopefully LSR will not experience a denial-of-service attack for posting the link!)
