The first round of early voting results has come in. Here's what we know so far by race and county:

* Governor's race: Our preliminary scan of early vote shows Gov. Rick Perry may win without a runoff. He's hovering just above the 51 percent figure. On the Democratic side, Bill White should win easily.

* Supreme Court: Looks like Eva Guzman will get re-elected easily. Place 3 is a free-for-all that won't be decided until later tonight.

* Harris County: Based on early vote totals, Dan Huberty is in danger of winning without a runoff for the Joe Crabb open seat. He polled 51 percent of the vote in early voting, compared with 21 percent for Susan Curling, 17 percent for Addie Wiseman, and 10 percent for Martin Basuldua.

* Dallas County: In the early vote totals, incumbent County Judge Jim Foster is placing third in a three way race, polling a mere 21 percent, with Clay Jenkins polling 51 percent and 28 percent for Larry Duncan. In State House District 100, Eric Johnson has a substantial lead over convicted Rep. Terri Hodge, 70-30 percent. For State House District 101, Cindy Burkett polled 49 percent in early voting , compared with 35 percent for Greg Noschese and 16 percent for former Rep. Thomas Latham. The winner would face current Rep. Robert Miklos (D-Mesquite) in November. In House District 102, Stephani Carter leads Geoff Bailey 78-22 for the seat currently held by Rep. Carol Kent (R-Dallas). The early vote for State Board of Education shows incumbent Geraldine "Tincy" Miller (R-Dallas) in a closer race than previously believed. Miller polled 51 percent in early voting, to 48 percent for her opponent George M. Clayton.

* Tarrant County: Looks like the Vicki Truitt race could be closer than expected. Truitt polled 53 percent in early voting, well ahead of her closest opponent Giovanni Capriglione, but she will need a strong showing from election day boxes to avoid a runoff. Rep. Todd Smith polled 57 percent in early voting.

* Travis County: In House District 47, a runoff looks likely between Holly Turner and Jeff Workman. Workman took 42 percent of the early vote, compared with 35 percent for Turner and 22 percent for David Sewell.

* Williamson County: For State Representative, District 20, Charles Schwartner took a majority of early votes, polling 56 percent compared with 23 percent for Milton Rister and 12 percent for Stephen Thomas. In District 52, a runoff between John Gordon (41 percent of early vote) and Larry Gonzales (38 percent of early vote) is likely.

* Collin County: Incumbent Collin County Judge Keith Self received 54 percent of the vote in the county judge's race, compared with 46 percent for Plano School Board member John Muns. In the House race in District 65 (the McCall open seat), Mabrie Jackson has 43 percent of the vote, compared with 32 percent for Van Taylor and 25 percent for Wayne Richard.

* Lubbock County: Mark Griffin is currently polling 51 percent for the Carl Isett open seat. His closest opponent, John Frullo is at 41 percent. This one could be close as to whether a runoff is needed. In the other Lubbock county race, Rep. Delwin Jones (R-Lubbock) appears headed to a runoff, polling 38 percent in Lubbock County (the district also contains some rural counties near Lubbock, which weren't posted when we wrote this blog post).
