Mark Lavergne

Correspondent

Mark Lavergne joined the Lone Star Report as a correspondent in March 2007.

In May 2003 he earned a bachelor's degree in newspaper journalism from the University of Texas at Austin. He then worked for three years doing education and outreach for the Catholic Diocese of Austin, giving oral presentations, coordinating events, and writing extensively. He spent six months in a Catholic seminary before reentering the private sector.

Lavergne is a Cajun by birth from Southwestern Louisiana, but spent most of his childhood and adult life in the greater Austin area. He is the son of Gary and Laura, and has one older brother and two younger sisters. Along with his parents and sisters, he is an avid Longhorn. His brother is an Aggie.
